What 13 Months of 28 Days Each Would Actually Feel Like

Consider your relationship with the current calendar. You probably know, without checking, roughly what month you are in. You probably know the date within a few days. You probably need to check, at least occasionally, what day of the week a specific upcoming date falls on — because there is no way to calculate this in your head without effort.

Now imagine a calendar where every month is exactly the same shape.

The Structure of the Ytinu Accord

In the Ytinu Accord, every month has exactly 28 days — four weeks of exactly seven days each. The months are named for the 13 houses: Obsidian, Tidal, Ember, Zephyr, Echo, Lumis, Sovereign, Volt, Polaris, Umbral, Aether, Chrono, and Null.

Because every month is exactly 4 weeks, every date has a permanent weekday. If the 1st is a Monday, the 8th is always a Monday, the 15th is always a Monday, the 22nd is always a Monday. The 7th is always a Sunday. The 14th is always a Sunday.

You can calculate any date in your head instantly. "The 19th? That's Monday the 15th plus four days — a Friday."

What Changes

Your relationship with time becomes rhythmic rather than administrative. Instead of checking a calendar to know what day a date falls on, you know. Instead of the month having an irregular shape that requires consultation, it has a shape you have memorised once and never need to recalculate.

The 13 months of 28 days each produce a year with a consistent pulse — four weeks, four weeks, four weeks, four weeks, four weeks, four weeks, four weeks, four weeks, four weeks, four weeks, four weeks, four weeks, four weeks, then the Void Day.

The 7 days of the week in the Ytinu Accord are named: Forge, Flux, Ment, Vox, Anima, Vital, and Accord. Each corresponds to one of the six XP attributes plus a community rest day. Every week has the same rhythm. Every month has four of them.
